No matter the situation, we’re committed to helping people get the eye care they need — whether they’re a member or not.
Emergency preparedness in the face of disaster
When disaster strikes, EyeMed steps up to support both members and non-members alike. The EyeMed Cares program is designed to help members recover and rebuild from natural disasters, including the following:
- Wildfires
- Tornadoes
- Hurricanes
- Tsunamis
- Volcanoes
- Earthquakes
- Flooding
- All other natural disasters
Members impacted by natural disasters receive priority service through EyeMed Cares, so they don’t have to worry about going without glasses and can focus on getting back on their feet. Members can call a dedicated emergency toll-free line where a trained representative will guide them through next steps.
The EyeMed Cares plan provides the following at no cost:
- Temporary ad-lens adjustable glasses
- Free expedited shipping at Glasses.com or ContactsDirect.com
- Vision exams, eye care support and resources provided through OneSight
Our network includes thousands of providers including LensCrafters, Target Optical, Pearle Vision and independent providers. It’s our priority as a benefits provider to do everything possible to bring vision to our members with ease and convenience, no matter the circumstances. That’s why we have 119,000+ providers in 30,000 locations – and we go the extra mile to provide sustainable access globally through our partnership with OneSight.1
Helping those in need of vision care see life to the fullest
Employees in affected areas who are not EyeMed members and are in need of financial assistance to obtain eyewear can contact OneSight for local support. OneSight is a vision nonprofit dedicated to creating a world where access to vision care is no longer a barrier to human achievement. As a gold sponsor, EyeMed is proud to partner with OneSight to provide on-site vision care services and eyewear solutions locally and globally.
Since 1988, OneSight has:2
- Helped 37+ million people worldwide have permanent access to vision care
- Established 1,965 charitable clinics and 210 sustainable centers
- Brought vision care to 53 countries and 49 states

Giving back to the community through Donate for Good
This initiative makes it easy for your employees to make a difference with ease. Employees can donate and collect used glasses for recycling. For every pair of glasses donated, EyeMed donates $5 to OneSight in your company’s name. Donations go directly toward providing eye exams, glasses, and sustainable vision centers for those that need eye care most. We provide posters, collection bins and everything your company needs to get you started. For more about Donate for Good, read our article here.
EyeMed is your reliable partner in difficult times
EyeMed is committed to helping your employees during difficult times, as well as non-members in need of vision care. We are making a difference globally — and right here at home. EyeMed employee volunteers perform 20,000+ yearly vision screenings for students in over 70 Greater Cincinnati area schools. Through our OneSight partnership, we have opened 20 sustainable school-based centers in the US. Together we have given 1.3 million students year-round access to vision care.3
We make it easy for our clients and partners to take advantage of these programs, helping bring sight to those in need. Reach out to your EyeMed account manager or visit OneSight.org/eyemed to get started.
